Momentum toward construction of the Pennsylvania portion of the North South Highway Corridor seems to be high.  A bill allowing the Keystone State to use toll credits towards matching funds for the project received unanimous approval in a US Senate subcommittee and the provision should be part of a transportation funding package later this year.

The Steps Committee will host the 6th Annual Garrett County Health Fair April 14th at Wisp Resort.  The purpose of the health fair is to increase health awareness through education and prevention in the community.

Marylanders who purchase a new appliance such a refrigerator, washer or dryer will have a chance to avoid paying taxes on the items later this month.  A tax free weekend for Energy Star products will run from February 18-20.
